We invite early-career researchers—including students (Bachelor’s to Postdoc), young professionals, and entrepreneurs—to present groundbreaking ideas, research projects, business models, or social initiatives. We are looking for innovative solutions that address global challenges and create real societal impact.
Prizes:
🥇 1st Prize: €1,000 + a ticket to pitch at the international Falling Walls Lab Finale in Berlin!
🥈 2nd Prize: €750
This event provides a unique platform to showcase creativity and innovation while fostering interdisciplinary exchange. Falling Walls Lab challenges participants to break down barriers—both in thinking and in action—to drive change.
About Falling Walls Lab
The first Falling Walls Lab started in 2011 in Berlin. Due to its great success, Falling Walls Labs are now held in around 50 countries worldwide (see https://falling-walls.com/lab/). The finale takes place every year in November in Berlin, with around 100 winners from the internationally held labs.
Eligibility Criteria
You must be 18 years or older when submitting your application. There is no upper age limit for applicants.
- You must fulfil at least one of the following formal requirements:
- You are currently enrolled in university and/or are currently a postdoc
- You received a Bachelor’s degree no more than 10 years ago
- You received a Master’s degree no more than 7 years ago
- You received a PhD no more than 5 years ago
*An MD (medical degree excl. a doctoral dissertation) is considered equivalent to a Master’s degree. A Dr. med. (medical degree incl. a doctoral dissertation) is considered equivalent to a PhD.
Please note, applicants do not have to be enrolled in Carinthia University of Applied Sciences, TU Graz or the University of Klagenfurt to be eligible to apply to your Lab.
